When to flip inequality sign?
I’ve heard to flip the sign if I multiply or divide by a negative, but I came across this problem recently, and there’s no multiplying or dividing by a negative, yet the correct final answer has the sign flipped.
Original problem: 10,000<20,000(1-0.15)^t
This was a no calculator, the goal was just to isolate t using logarithms.
Do you flip the sign if you divide/multiply by x<1 as well? I have no idea.
Thank you so much!
