- Introduction/Goal: explain what you are trying to accomplish in your experiment.
- Theory: include the theoretical model of your experiment, if there is any.
- Data: in most cases data should be presented in table or tables. Note that in some instances the data will consist of screenshots of the simulation.
- Graphs: if possible, construct a graph showing that the data follows the theory, some trends, etc. In some instances you may include screenshots of the simulation as graphs.
- Data analysis: Use your data and graphs to obtain the quantities you’re looking for
- Results: Discuss your results and how they compare with the expected/theoretical values.
- Conclusion: Discuss what you think that was the most important result or results obtained, and/or how you could have improved the experiment. If theoretical values are available (e.g., gravitational acceleration constant is expected to be g =9.80 m/s2) determine the error of your experiment using |experimental value – theoretical value| /|theoretical value| written as a percentage (e.g., your gexperimental is 9.42 m/s2, so your error for g is |9.42 m/s2 – 9.80 m/s2” m/s2|= 0.039 = 3.9 % ).
