Tim describes Curt Lemon’s death from his own point of view. He was not directly involved and has had to speculate based on what he did know of the incident and of the people involved.
O’Brien sees Curt’s death as beautiful, as he uses picturesque imagery to describe his death. Imagine you are Rat Kiley. Write the letter to Curt’s sister and describe Lemon’s death using Rat’s feelings and possible version of events as he might have seen it. You may also create journal from the perspective of Kiley, if you choose.
Refer to O’Brien’s accounts of Curt Lemon’s death:
- Discuss feelings/emotions
- Discuss events as you think it happened
- Describe what he saw (vs. what O’Brien saw)
