Primary Source Analysis
* The goal of this assignment is for you to think deeply about a primary source called The American Yawp Reader: Crystal Eastman, “Now We Can Begin” (1920), and think about what we can learn from this source.
* Your analysis should answer the questions: Why is this source important? What does it tell us? What does it show? When was it written? What does it tell us about the context? Think about if you were talking about this source to a friend. How would you explain it? What other information would you need to give?
* This is an essay, meaning it should be paragraphs with an introduction paragraph, body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph.
* Important Notice: Do not use contractions (don’t, haven’t, would’ve, couldn’t, shouldn’t). Do not use the first person. Do use evidence. Do cite your sources. Do not use long quotes. Do not use quotes from secondary sources. Do put quotes in quotation marks (and don’t italicize quotes)
