In 2005, the Nursing Organizations Alliance developed a blueprint for organizational leadership to follow for improving utilization of the nursing profession. These became known as the Nine Principles (or Elements). After over a decade, it is arguable whether these Nine Principles have been integrated into organizational culture and whether professional nursing has truly made advances.
