Mood Board Assignment Directions

Three-Step Directions

Step 1:

Select either Client A or Client B, then create a mood board for their project needs. Neither will have a budget; you’re welcome!

Step 2:

Create a mood board for the client that you have selected (somehow must be noted who the client is).  Be sure to include each of the required items for your particular client.

The mood board can be digitally created through a source that you use or one of the suggested free ones listed below.  Or, you may do a real collage with pictures and actual samples.

Step 3:

Save your mood board as a .pdf or .jpg

Submit to Canvas in Mood Board Assignment, M13 – Due!

Select ONE (either Client A or Client B).

Client A

This happy couple is so excited to welcome their first child.  They are adopting, and do not know if it will be a boy or girl.  They have been told to expect a child between the ages of 12 to 18 months old.  Create a warm and cheerful bedroom for this little one.

Your clients will be purchasing everything through your design services, and they have nothing at this point. They want this newly designed + furnished  (10′-0″ x 12′-6″) space to include. 

Select 10 – 15 items from the list below that you will include in your finished mood board.

• flooring
• window treatments
• paint
• lighting
• crib and/or twin-size bed (include all bedding)
• adult chair for cuddling (rocker, glider, club, etc.) + ottoman
• child-size chair + ottoman
• dresser/changing table
• nightstand(s)
• child-size table and two chairs
• artwork
• accessories (toys!)

Save the URLs for the items you select.  They will be used in the Big Pitch assignment.

Client B

This family wants a fun + comfortable family room.  There are four family members (2 parents + 2 teenage children) who entertain friends in their home a lot. They want this newly designed + furnished (15′-0″ x 18′-6″) space to include.

Select 10 – 15 items from the list below that you will include in your finished mood board.

• lighting
• sofa(s) if an L, U, or semi-circular shaped one is used, then the additional upholstered chairs requirements may be eliminated.)
• four upholstered chairs
• ottoman(s)

• game table with four chairs
• coffee, console, and/or end tables

• accessories (TV, etc.)
